With the communal areas of this fab remodel complete, it was time to continue the European relaxed feel of this home into the bedrooms.  This sunny oasis is the guest room, a place that will host friends and family from near and far.  The transformation began with a fresh blank slate after painting the walls in one of our standard whites from Benjamin Moore, Chantilly Lace.  Amazing how a crisp white is a powerful backdrop to make the contents of the room pop.  A classic spindle bed from their prior home went from hot pink to dramatic black and is well appointed with a Turkish velvet pillow, Belgian linens and a vintage fringed African throw.  Vintage Side Tables lacquered in white with new brass hardware make great nightstands as they provide additional storage.  A pair of gilded chrome chairs get new life in a dreamy turquoise velvet and make this room feel like a vacation suite.

Custom shades made from vintage linens we sourced on a trip to Paris are a great contrast to this light and airy room.  A lacquered piece from the previous home’s master bedroom just screamed to be in this room.  Floating above, a  fiberglass Moooi pendant casts a magical light when the sun goes down.

This lamp!  A modern take on a classic crane, a sophisticated touch of whimsy opposite the hog tied books.  Subtle line drawings found on the hunt are just the monochromatic art this room needed.

Aaaaand then there’s the new bathroom.  We loved designing a dark floor and ceiling juxtaposed against white and natural wood to make guests feel like they were in a hip new hotel.  Our amazing carpenters created a floating vanity and modern spin on a medicine cabinet that really take this bathroom to the next level.  Drawer pulls from Rejuvenation in oil rubbed bronze were exactly what we were yearning for. And then we fell head over heels for this gilded Tom Dixon pendant.

Classic subway tile  flipped up, down, and all around creates a Tetris like pattern until it meets a pool of black ceramic hexagons.

A fun twist on your average bathroom mirror hangs from leather on a wood peg.  And those sexy sconces?  Aerin Lauder for the win.  Stocked with basic essentials and luxe bath products, this bathroom is somewhere we would be very happy sinking into during our stay.  One can dream right?  Stay tuned for the Master bedroom coming up next in this Modern Vintage Domicile.
