Writing my second complaint, for a different restaurant and a different reason. I was appalled at our service we received today at your Cambridge restaurant. Me and my sister in law arrived at the restaurant and ordered olives and tomatoes for our ‘starter’ and pizzas for our main. It took at least 30 mins for those ‘starters’ to arrive and about 2 hours for our mains to arrive. The people sat on table next to us arrived after us and got their real starters first (this is what the lady said to us that theirs were real starters and obv ours weren’t). But how long does it take to shove some tomatoes and olives in a bowl and bring them out? Anyway the waitress was running about all the time, and seemed to be angry and stressed. I said to her about the food and asked her to check where it was she said ‘she had been dealing with another table that was a bit of a mess’. What’s that got to do with me? I am a customer and customers are supposed to be treated with respect not given lots of reasons for why things were not done. I asked the lady for the receipt and before I had chance to open my mouth she said ‘one minute’ and ran off to deal with someone at the door. We paid... I spoke to the manager who didn’t really give two hoots about what I was saying and how I felt, telling me that they are understaffed and that they don’t even have a cleaner. I don’t care, I came for food service and was let down. He didn’t even offer any type of compensation or anything. Rude staff and generally laid back approach to work. Not happy at all.
